AHOF's JL is attracting attention beyond the group's existing fanbase as clips of his vocal covers circulate online, prompting an emotional response from the Filipino singer, who expressed gratitude for the unexpected interest in his performances.

Recently, fans have been sharing recordings of JL singing through Weverse DM, including a cover of Jay Sean's "Down." The clips have generated positive reactions from listeners praising his vocal tone and delivery, with some expressing interest in discovering more about AHOF.

The attention has been particularly meaningful for JL, who reportedly addressed the growing response in a series of Weverse DM messages shared by fans.

In the circulating screenshots, the singer explained that he had been staying up late reading comments on videos of his performances, admitting that he never expected to receive so much positive attention.

"I'm just so happy," he wrote, before expressing his determination to continue singing if it could help introduce more people to his group.

"If I have to sing 24/7 just for more people to recognize us, I WILL DO IT," he added.

JL also credited fans for helping his performances reach wider audiences, repeatedly expressing his gratitude for their support.

The recent interest follows another viral moment involving JL during an October 5 Weverse Live broadcast with fellow AHOF member Steven. After encountering a derogatory comment about his appearance, JL responded directly, telling the viewer to leave the broadcast if they found him distracting.

The exchange circulated widely on social media and introduced the singer to viewers who were previously unfamiliar with AHOF. However, the attention surrounding his vocal covers has given those audiences another reason to explore his work.

Born Jay Lawrence Gaspar in Muntinlupa, Philippines, JL began his career in the Filipino pop group PLUUS before competing on SBS' survival program "Universe League."

He ultimately ranked first in the competition, securing a place in the nine-member group AHOF, which debuted under F&F Entertainment in July 2025. Known for his vocal abilities throughout the survival show, JL has continued to showcase his singing through performances and interactions with fans.

His recent response also highlights a broader aspect of the attention he has received. Rather than focusing solely on his own growing recognition, JL has repeatedly connected the positive feedback to his hopes of helping AHOF reach new listeners.

For an artist who already built a following through the Philippine music industry before entering K-POP, the renewed interest represents another opportunity to introduce his voice to an international audience.

And judging by his message to fans, JL appears more than willing to keep singing to make that happen.
