Moon Ga-young to Host Golden Disc Awards for Third Straight Year
Actress Moon Ga-young is returning to host the Golden Disc Awards for the third year in a row. She will once again share the stage with singer Sung Si-kyung at the 41st ceremony, set for Jan. 9 and 10 next year in Hanoi, Vietnam.
HLL, the company behind the Golden Disc Awards, announced on Oct. 20 that the two have been confirmed as hosts for the upcoming ceremony.
Moon and Sung first hosted together at the 39th ceremony, held in 2025. Cha Eun-woo joined them that year, and the three hosted the event as a team. However, Cha later stepped away because of his military service. Since the 40th ceremony, Sung and Moon have continued to host the awards together.
The upcoming show will be Sung's 11th year as host. His connection to the awards go beyond hosting. He has won both the rookie award and a bonsang, or main prize, at past ceremonies.
Moon has hosted the cremony every year since the 39th ceremony. The first time she took the role, she earned praise for her composed delivery and steady voice. She will once again lead the show alongside Sung.
Her acting career has also been gaining momentum. Her film "Once We Were Us" (Manyage Uri) opened in theaters in December of last year. Her performance earned her the Best Actress award in the film category at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards in May, one of South Korea's major awards ceremonies recognizing achievements in film and television.
The Golden Disc Awards honors popular music released over the past year, picking winning songs, albums, and artists. The 41st ceremony will take place on a specially built outdoor stage at the Vietnam Exposition Center (VEC) in Hanoi.
For Moon, the hosting gig has become a regular part of her year. As she continues to build her acting career, she is also returning to one of the biggest stages in the Korean music industry.
