Netflix's mystery variety show "Crime Scene Zero" is coming back for a second season with all five main cast members from Season 1 back on board: Jang Jin, Park Ji Yoon, Jang Dong-min, Kim Ji-hoon and An Yujin of IVE. No new regular members are joining, but each episode will feature a special guest. The new season will premiere in 2027.

The show is a role-playing mystery game in which cast members take on the roles of suspects and detectives as they try to identify the culprit hiding among them. Each player stays in character while investigating the crime scene, examining the evidence and working out who did it.

Released in 2025, Season 1 kept the deduction format of the original "Crime Scene" series while drawing attention for its elaborate crime scene sets and diverse characters, supported by Netflix's production resources.

Film director Jang Jin returns to put his sharp eye for detail and deductive skills to the tes. Park Ji Yoon, who played a long list of characters in Season 1, is also back. Her return keeps her record intact: she has appeared in every episode of every season of the "Crime Scene" franchise.

Jang Dong-min is returning as well. In Season 1, he entertained viewers with characters such as "Jang Ttal" and "Jang Iut," while standing out for his quick reasoning and witty improv.

Actor Kim Ji-hoon, who majored in psychology, will once again draw on his analytical skills and acting abilities to engage in mind games with the other cast members. An Yujin of the K-POP girl group IVE also returns. Last season, she showed how much she had grown as a player, digging through crime scenes and building her own theories.

Season 2 pairs the five regulars with a special guest in every episode. The production team plans to build larger crime scene sets and new tricks to give the cast more room for deduction and role-play.

Producer Yoon Hyun-joon, who directs the show, said there was never any question about bringing back the original lineup.

"No matter what anyone says, I believe these five understand the world of 'Crime Scene' and bring it to life better than anyone," Yoon said. "I'm happy we can all be together again. Please look forward to the great guests who will join them, too."

"Crime Scene Zero" Season 2 will stream on Netflix in 2027. The exact premiere date has yet to be announced.
