Geonwoo (건우)

A member of the rookie K-pop group ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1), Geonwoo — born Kim Geon Woo on April 11, 2003 — became a subject of public attention in early 2026 not for a chart milestone, but for a controversy that led to a suspension from group activities.

Membership in ALD1

Geonwoo is a member of ALD1 (ALPHA DRIVE ONE), a group managed by Wakeone. Details of the group's debut timeline and full discography are not covered in available material, but by early 2026 the act had reached a stage of fan-facing activity, including scheduled fan concerts, indicating an established fanbase at that point in their career.

Controversy and Suspended Activities

In April 2026, Geonwoo halted all group activities after issuing two public apologies related to a personality controversy. Wakeone confirmed that the incident stemmed from remarks Geonwoo made during his trainee period, explaining that he had expressed dissatisfaction without realizing his microphone was on. The agency accepted responsibility for the situation.

As a result of the controversy, Geonwoo was absent from ALD1's upcoming fan concerts, while fellow members Lee Sang-won and Heo Shin-long continued group commitments — including a performance appearance on tvN's music variety program *Amazing Saturday* in April 2026. The split in activity among members drew notable press coverage during that period.
