As lead rapper and lead vocalist of 4Minute, Jeon Jiyoon was one of the more distinctive voices in the Cube Entertainment girl group that ran from 2009 until the label declined to renew members' contracts in 2016. Alongside her work in 4Minute, she extended her activity through 2YOON, a sub-unit she formed with fellow member Gayoon.
Debut and group career
Born in Suwon in 1990, Jiyoon debuted with 4Minute under Cube Entertainment, occupying a dual role in the group as both lead rapper and lead vocalist — a combination that gave her considerable presence across the group's recordings. 2YOON, the sub-unit she shared with Gayoon, represented a creative detour within her tenure at Cube, broadening her output beyond 4Minute's main releases.
