BABYMONSTER Tops K-POPiT BOARD as 'SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA' Hits No.1 Globally
BABYMONSTER is breaking out beyond its core fan base, with new data showing the YG Entertainment group leading both domestic and global K-pop influence charts this week. The signs of mainstream crossover come just weeks before the group launches its second world tour in Seoul.
According to the K-POPiT BOARD, a K-pop analytics index released Wednesday, BABYMONSTER topped the domestic chart with a score of 67.4 and the global power index (PWR_GL) with 63.5. The power index combines data from music charts around the world, social media activity, and news coverage to measure overall influence.
What stands out is how the group reached the top. Its fan engagement score sat at a relatively modest 44.1, which means the No. 1 ranking is being driven by non-fandom audiences. Reactions from non-fan listeners jumped 248.4%, and search volume climbed 100.0%, according to the index's crossover data.
That public interest is showing up clearly on YouTube. The platform's latest chart, based on June 8, 2026 data and released June 10, placed BABYMONSTER's new digital single "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA" at No. 1 on the global daily music video chart. The song landed at No. 1 in Japan, Australia, Thailand, and Hong Kong, while reaching No. 8 in the United Kingdom and No. 11 in the United States.
The music video for "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA" went straight to No. 1 on YouTube's Worldwide Trending chart after release, then climbed onto the platform's "most viewed in 24 hours" list. It crossed 20 million views in roughly 26 hours and is now closing in on 30 million. A performance video is set to drop at 6 p.m. KST to keep the momentum going.
The group is expected to continue aggressively growing its fan base in the coming months. BABYMONSTER will open its second world tour, "2026-27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR [CHOOM]," at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul from June 26 to 28. The run continues through Japan, other parts of Asia, North America, Europe, and South America, hitting 18 cities and 27 shows in total.
The numbers point to a turning point for BABYMONSTER. With a hit single pulling in viewers who are not part of the fandom, and a global tour about to begin, the group is moving from rookie breakout into the wider conversation around K-pop's next generation. The group is expected to grow into an act that appeals to both the general public and dedicated fans.
