BABYMONSTER Teases Cinematic Storyline in First "DESERVE" MV Stills
BABYMONSTER has revealed the first still images from its upcoming "DESERVE" music video, offering a glimpse of a more cinematic direction ahead of the single's October 23 release.
YG Entertainment shared the images through its official blog on October 19 under the title [DESERVE] M/V STILL CUT, unveiling scenes featuring members Rora and Chiquita.
The images contrast dark backgrounds with bold red lettering, while the individual scenes suggest different emotional settings within the music video.
Rora appears smiling backstage as staff members cheer around her. Another image captures her silhouette dancing with a male dancer, hinting at a performance-focused sequence.
Chiquita, meanwhile, is shown standing alone in a dimly lit corridor surrounded by a busy crowd. Her subdued expression creates a more isolated atmosphere, contrasting with the energy of Rora's scenes.
The stills also suggest that the members will take on more acting-oriented roles in the video, although the full storyline has yet to be revealed.
The visual direction marks a departure from BABYMONSTER's previous single "SUGAR HONEY ICE TEA," which was released in June.
YG Entertainment executive producer Yang Hyun-suk previously described "DESERVE" as a slow-tempo song carrying unusually intense energy.
He also highlighted the contrast between the members' delicate vocal delivery and powerful singing, suggesting that the track will place greater emphasis on emotional expression.
The single arrives as BABYMONSTER continues its second world tour, 2026–27 BABYMONSTER WORLD TOUR 'CHOOM', which spans 31 performances across 18 cities on five continents.
The group is also preparing another album, currently targeted for release in early 2027.
"DESERVE" will be released on October 23 at 1 p.m. KST.
