K-POP girl group izna has landed its first major mainstream moment with a breezy summer single that is pulling in listeners well beyond its core fandom. The group's third mini-album, "SET THE TEMPO," dropped on August 8, led by the title track "METRONOME."

According to K-POPIT BOARD, a K-POP analytics platform, izna's buzz spiked sharply at home and abroad in the days following the release. In the domestic analysis, the group ranked third with a Korea Power Index (PWR_KR) score of 62.1. The Power Index is calculated using a mix of global music charts, social media activity, and news coverage. On the global side, izna placed 10th with a Global Power Index (PWR_GL) of 54.2. It is the first time the group has appeared on the platform's global buzz rankings.

The jump was driven less by fandom activity and more by general public interest. The "D-layer" metric, which tracks mentions outside the core fan base, rose 4,374 percent in a single day.

"METRONOME" leans into a UK garage house sound built for summer. Bright, percussive piano carries the rhythm while a heavy four-on-the-floor kick anchors the track. A repeating vocal hook sits on top, giving the song its hold on listeners.

Reactions online have been strong. Fans and casual listeners on X and other communities called it the group's "Best comeback yet," a "Song of the year candidate," and "Fun and powerful." Many pointed to the group's roots on the survival show "I-LAND 2," noting that the performance quality matches that pedigree. Some listeners also said they think the group still does not get the attention it deserves.

izna has also drawn attention for tight choreography and distinctive styling. The group has delivered energetic stages with live vocals on SBS's "Inkigayo," KBS's "Music Bank," and MBC's "Show! Music Core."

The official music video for "METRONOME," posted on YouTube, pulled in 4.93 million views within three days of release.
