ENHYPEN's Jay Stalked for Months, Private Phone Calls Secretly Recorded and Leaked
BELIFT LAB has taken legal action against an individual accused of stalking ENHYPEN's Jay, repeatedly calling his private phone number and leaking secretly recorded conversations online.
In a statement on Nov. 3, the agency said the harassment began in June when the individual contacted Jay while pretending to work for an internet and television installation company.
The caller brought up Jay's family and tried to obtain more personal information. Suspicious of the conversation, Jay checked with his family and learned that the caller's claims were false.
The calls reportedly continued even after Jay stopped responding. The individual also secretly recorded their conversations and shared the audio on KakaoTalk, Instagram and X Spaces.
When the recordings drew public attention, the person allegedly tried to explain away the calls as work-related or claimed their accounts had been hacked before deleting them.
BELIFT LAB said the incident had caused Jay considerable stress and anxiety. The agency has filed a criminal complaint and contacted South Korea's three major telecommunications companies for assistance in identifying the individual.
The agency added that it would not offer settlements or leniency in cases involving stalking and the unauthorized disclosure of its artists' personal information.
