Kwon Eun-bin Announces Retirement From Entertainment Industry
Former CLC member and actress Kwon Eun-bin is stepping away from the entertainment industry. The singer-turned-actress announced her retirement on Tuesday through a long message posted to her social media.
"I felt it was right to share my current situation and my decision directly with everyone who has supported me," Kwon wrote at the start of the post.
She explained that years of reflection led her to the choice. "I have been active since I was a teenager, and over that long stretch of time, I naturally spent more and more hours thinking about my past, present, and future. After much thought, I have decided to live the life of an ordinary person."
Kwon was candid about the emotional weight behind the decision. "When I look back, most of my time was spent dealing with a sense of emptiness and anxiety about the present and the future, rather than feeling love for my work," she wrote. "Instead of trying to overcome those negative feelings and grow from them, I spent regrettable years simply avoiding them or trying to brush them off."
She added that she now sees parts of her past as wasted time. "For years, I was pouring my precious time into meaningless hours that did me no good, and into hollow relationships that had no real value. I feel deep regret about the foolish version of myself from those years. Now I have decided to leave all of those negative times and feelings behind, and spend my time chasing a better and happier future."
Kwon said she is in a better place now. "These days, I am living through some of the newest and happiest moments I have ever felt. I will wrap up all of my entertainment activities after completing the CLC overseas group schedule that was already planned. I sincerely thank everyone for the support they have shown me, and I hope you all stay happy."
Kwon first drew attention in 2016 as a contestant on Mnet's girl group survival show "Produce 101" Season 1. She joined CLC and debuted as a member of the group later that year, and went on to build a parallel career as an actress. Last month, she ended her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment.
