Ha Seok-jin, Hani Lead KBS Weekend Drama 'Love Is Coming' July 25
Actor Ha Seok-jin and Hani are stepping into a tender first-love story in KBS 2TV's new weekend drama "Love Is Coming."
The series premieres July 25 at 8 p.m. KST. KBS describes it as a "family recipe" drama, following two people who piece together fragments of broken families to set the warmest table life can offer.
The project reunites two well-known names in Korean television. Screenwriter Lee Kyung-hee, whose past work includes "Uncontrollably Fond," "The Innocent Man," and "I'm Sorry, I Love You," is teaming with director Hong Seok-gu, known for "Queen's House," "Beauty and Mr. Romantic," and "My Only One." The drama is produced by Monster Union and Content Zio.
On June 24, KBS released the first set of stills, offering a look at the bright early days of Kim Mu-jin, played by Ha Seok-jin, and Han Gyu-rim, played by Hani. The images focus on the couple's youth, before life's harsher realities set in.
Ha plays Kim Mu-jin, the polished owner and head chef of an Italian restaurant. Hani plays Han Gyu-rim, an employee at a banchan shop who keeps her bright, steady energy even as daily life wears her down. Together, the two anchor the show's young romance.
The stills lean into the feeling of fated timing. Kim Mu-jin and Han Gyu-rim first cross paths at a bus stop, dressed almost like a matching couple. They run into each other again at a part-time job, then once more at the same bus stop where they first met. The repeated encounters mark the start of a connection that slowly pulls them toward each other.
Other stills show the pair already at ease together. Kim Mu-jin sits with Han Gyu-rim's younger siblings, slipping warmly into the group and offering a moment of comfort to her tiring routine. Han Gyu-rim watches him with a look that mixes relief with a deeper, quieter feeling. The images hint at how he becomes her one source of rest, and raise the question of why two people this close eventually have to part.
"Ha Seok-jin and Hani's sweet chemistry and the fresh energy between them will carry the early episodes," the production team said. "We hope viewers will tune in to watch two young people turn a string of coincidences into a fated love."
Love Is Coming premieres July 25 at 8 p.m. KST on KBS 2TV.
