'Bumpy Love' Season 2 Drops July 7 With Bolder Romance Rookies
Netflix's romance reality series Bumpy Love is back, and this time its first-time daters are going in harder.
The second season, officially titled "Bumpy Love" Season 2, premieres July 7. The show follows people who have never been in a relationship as they try to figure out their first one. It is built as a makeover-style dating reality program, with no prior romantic experience among the cast but plenty of expectations about love.
The main poster, released on the 23rd, shows the contestants reacting to their first crushes. Their expressions range widely as they meet new feelings for the first time. How they handle those feelings, and how their first relationships come together, sits at the center of the season.
In the main trailer, the show's panel of "Some Makers," made up of actor Seo In-guk, actor Kang Han-na, comedian Lee Eun-ji, and singer Car, the Garden, reacts to a noticeably bolder group of contestants. Even so, the cast's awkward and unpredictable moves still draw sighs and unsolicited advice from the panel, which leans into the show's comedy.
The shift in the contestants is one of the season's biggest selling points. One cast member declares, "I'm going to do what I want to do," setting up what the show frames as a "love bulldozer" approach. Their head-first push toward a first relationship surprises even the Some Makers, and the trailer hints at unexpected turns ahead.
Producer Kim No-eun said the gender balance of the cast stands out this time. "Last season, the male contestants' characters really stood out. This season, the female contestants are just as strong. Look forward to the bold female solos," she said. Producer Won Seung-jae described the tonal shift more directly. "Season 1 felt closer to an educational program, where viewers cheered the cast on, watched them grow, and laughed at their awkward moments. Season 2 has turned into a dating show," he said.
Season 1 of "Bumpy Love" premiered in July of last year and entered Netflix's global Top 10 non-English TV chart, drawing strong attention. A second season was confirmed the following month, in August of last year, when casting opened.
The first-love premise has become a recognizable lane within Korean dating reality, where shows often build around very specific romantic conditions. With Season 2, the producers are betting that a bolder cast and a sharper dating-show frame can push the format past its breakout first run.
