Actor Heo Nam-jun Opens Up About Acting Dreams on "You Quiz on the Block"

Actor Heo Nam-jun, whose profile has climbed sharply since the drama "My Royal Nemesis," appeared on tvN's variety show "You Quiz on the Block" to share stories from his career and personal life.

The 348th episode of "You Quiz on the Block" aired on the 24th and topped its time slot across cable and general programming channels. It averaged 4.5 percent with a peak of 5.9 percent among households in the Seoul metropolitan area, and averaged 4.6 percent with a peak of 5.9 percent among households nationwide, according to Nielsen Korea's paid platform ratings. The show also ranked first in its time slot across all channels, including major broadcast networks, among male and female viewers aged 20 to 49, tvN's core target.

The show is also drawing strong online buzz. "You Quiz on the Block" came in second in the non-drama TV-OTT buzz rankings for the third week of June, according to Good Data Corporation's FUNdex.

Built around the theme "The Voice That Saved Me," the episode featured 14-year-old hip-hop duo Han Jae-hee and Han Tae-woo, who caught the attention of G-Dragon and beatboxer Wing; air traffic controller Hong Won-cheol, who spent 31 years at New York's JFK Airport; singer Ha Chun-hwa, who marked her 65th debut anniversary; and actor Heo Nam-jun.

Heo Nam-jun talked about how he shaped his "My Royal Nemesis" character Cha Se-gye and discussed his on-screen chemistry with co-star Lim Ji-yeon. He also opened up about his school days and the many part-time jobs he held earlier in life. "I started dreaming of becoming an actor while doing dictation practice," he said.

Next week's episode will feature a child making her third appearance on the show, who went viral after a five-second interview on Children's Day; four siblings who all became soldiers across the army, navy, and air force; correctional officers Lee Dong-ryeol and Kim Ji-hoon of the Seoul Detention Center's CRPT mobile patrol unit; and actor Kim Mu-yeol, who plays Na Hwa-jin in the Netflix series "Teach You a Lesson."

"You Quiz on the Block" airs every Wednesday at 8:45 p.m. KST.
