DAY6's Young K, Cho Hye-ryun Join MBC Variety Show 'Best Peak'

DAY6's Young K and veteran comedian Cho Hye-ryun are joining MBC's variety show "Best Peak" The program returns on Nov. 28 at 6:05 p.m. KST after locking in a seven-episode extension.

MBC released two teaser clips ahead of the comeback. The show's cast has openly talked about chasing a win at the network's year-end variety awards, and the new run is built around that push.

The first teaser opens with the regular cast, Yoo Se-yoon, Jang Dong-min, Heo Kyung-hwan, Boom, Yang Se-hyung and Young K, getting kidnapped without warning. Caught off guard, Young K shouts "My Day, save me!", a nod to DAY6's fandom name. The clip then cuts to the members running from a horde of zombies, pushing the tone into full action-comedy.

The second teaser leans into the show's central premise. The "Best Peak" cast has to compete with MBC's long-running variety staples, so the members try out a range of genres to lift ratings. Boom visits fortune teller Park Seong-jun, who tells him, "Your face needs to feel natural." Other members try to copy the young creator crew "Young KK" and stumble through the bit for laughs.

Cho Hye-ryun, Young K and veteran actress Sun Woo-yong-nyeo join as new members of the show's "summit expedition" team, setting up a fresh dynamic with the regulars. Cho Hye-ryun in particular dresses up as a mountain bandit alongside the cast and yells, "Let's go raid MBC!" She then storms into the network shouting, "Come out, 'Best Peak' CP!"
