EVAN Shows Wider Vocal Range on Korean Web Show
Singer EVAN is back on one of K-POP's most-watched web shows, this time with a softer take on his own single and a set of covers that stretched his range.
EVAN appeared on the June 30 episode of "Limousine Service," a video series on the YouTube channel KBS Kpop. It was his second time on the show after a 2022 appearance, and he used the return to showcase a more developed sound.
He opened with his debut single's title track, "Ride or Die." The original leans into alternative rock, but EVAN reworked it as a piano-driven arrangement, leading with a strong vocal tone. He followed it with the B-side "Overflow," a calmer track that pulled the mood in the opposite direction.
EVAN, who took part in writing, composing, and producing the single, also opened up about how his process has changed. He said it used to take him three months to finish a song. "Now it takes me about three hours at the fastest, or six hours at the longest, to finish a demo," he said. "People say the work gets easier once the song structure or a catchy melody clicks, and I experienced that while working on 'Ride or Die.'"
The episode then moved into a run of covers. EVAN performed HONNE's "Day 1 ◑," The Weeknd's "Save Your Tears," and Taeyang's "Wedding Dress," moving between R&B and pop. Host Lee Mu-jin, watching the set, said EVAN's range had grown wider and that his voice now carried more warmth than before.
EVAN also talked about the kind of artist he wants to become. "I like a lot of different styles, and I want to express all of them," he said. "My goal is to be an interesting artist whose music has an alternative appeal, and who keeps expanding his musical roots."
EVAN released the digital single "Ride or Die" on June 22 and is staying busy across broadcast and live stages. After music show appearances, he is set to appear on KBS Cool FM's "Gabee's Super Radio" on July 4. He will also take the stage at "2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer" on August 9 and "KCON LA 2026" on August 16.
