Lee Dong-wook Returns in Disney+ "A Shop for Killers" Season 2, Premiering July 22

Disney+ has set a July 22 premiere for the second season of its Korean original series "A Shop for Killers." The new season picks up the story of Jeong Jin-man, played by Lee Dong-wook, the character once believed to be dead. Along with the release date, the production team unveiled a new character still of Jin-man.

Season 2 follows Ji-an, played by Kim Hye-jun, as she takes over the shopping mall and teams up with her uncle Jin-man, now revealed to be alive, to face off against a global organization called Babylon.

Lee, who played the former mercenary and Ji-an's uncle in Season 1, said returning to the role felt meaningful. "Just being able to come back for Season 2 is an honor, and I'm glad to show Jeong Jin-man to viewers once again," he said.

The new still shows Jin-man preparing a fresh operation alongside the Murderhelp team. Lee said the character will show more range this time. "Jin-man isn't someone with big emotional swings, and he rarely lets them show on the outside. In this season, you'll see moments where those emotions come out," he said. Director Lee Kwon added, "In Season 2, Jin-man goes through a lot of hardship and pain, so there will be more scenes where he expresses emotion more openly than before."

The action has also changed. Martial arts director Jun Jae-hyeong, who returns from Season 1, praised Lee's physical work. "In terms of action, he is already a complete actor," he said. "This season features action in new spaces we haven't shown before. He trained a great deal so he could handle everything, from fight scenes in the dark to wire work, without a stunt double." Lee echoed that the sequences have been leveled up. "The action is more spectacular this time," he said. "I prepared with the mindset of not letting anyone down."

"A Shop for Killers" Season 2 launches with its first two episodes on July 22 on Disney+. New episodes will drop every Wednesday, with a total of eight episodes over the season.
