So Ji-sub's follow-up to "Agent Kim Reactivated" is "Flex x Cop 2."
The Korean crime drama Flex X Cop 2 is set to premiere August 7, taking over the slot after So Ji-sub's "Agent Kim Reactivated." The show released its first teaser on July 2.
The series follows Jin Yi-soo, a third-generation chaebol heir who moonlights as a detective and uses his wealth and connections like cheat codes, and Joo Hye-ra, a veteran detective. Together they hunt criminals in a joint investigation setup. Season 1 peaked at an 11 percent rating and built a loyal fan base.
The new teaser opens with Ahn Bo-hyun as Jin Yi-soo, smirking and asking, "Shall we get started?" It cuts to him boarding a private jet with his Violent Crimes Unit 1 teammates Park Jun-young, played by Kang Sang-jun, and Choi Kyung-jin, played by Kim Shin-bi. The trio, now clearly tight, fly overseas together to take down criminals.
From there the footage stacks one flex on top of another. Jin Yi-soo shows up in a tuxedo at a party and raises a casual "Cheers." He calls in a helicopter with the line, "I'll be borrowing that chopper. I've got serial killers to catch." He tears through downtown streets in a foreign sports car during a chase. The message is clear: money is the weapon, and the payoff is the satisfaction of watching him beat criminals at their own game.
The Gangha Police Station gets a shakeup, too. Jin Yi-soo rolls out a red carpet and prepares a bouquet to welcome the new team leader. The new boss arrives in police dress uniform on a motorcycle, and turns out to be Joo Hye-ra, played by Jung Eun-chae. She was the drill instructor who terrified Jin Yi-soo back in police academy days. In the teaser she flips him with a judo throw and swings her baton without hesitation, playing up a full girl-crush entrance.
The threats facing them are big. Bomb attacks and fires break out across department stores, moving cars, and party venues. A mysterious warning lands: "Inspector Jin, let the game begin." Joo Hye-ra delivers the sharp line, "Jin Yi-soo, that means someone is willing to die to take you down. That's how serious this guy is." It hints at a new level of danger closing in on him.
Actor Yoo Seung-ho joins the cast as a new chaebol character, Yoo Sung-won. His first appearance alone commands the scene and pulls focus.
