The actor, now in his mid-50s, looked noticeably clearer and brighter on camera. The flushed, ruddy complexion that fans used to call his "drinking tone" was gone. Comments poured in online, with viewers writing that he looked more handsome than ever, that the redness had completely disappeared, and that his self-care was impressive.

Hwang Jung-min had previously said on a broadcast program that he decided to stop drinking. "I drank a lot, and my memory got worse and I started making small mistakes," he said. "I'm taking a break from alcohol."
