i-dle's MINNIE Opens Up About Family's Thailand Resort
i-dle's MINNIE is finally speaking on the "Thai heiress" rumor that has followed her for years. On the July 5 episode of SBS's "Running Man," she confirms that her family runs a resort in Thailand and floats the idea of shooting a "Running Man" Thailand special there.
The moment lands after the cast asks whether she would invite them home if they ever visited Thailand. "Come hang out at our resort," MINNIE tells them, before pitching the location for a future overseas episode. The room shifts instantly. Fellow i-dle member MIYEON, who appears on the same episode, chimes in that MINNIE "also has several houses in Thailand." From there, the cast pivots into full flattery mode, joking, "Minnie, send a photo of us to your mom and dad tonight," and "We want to treat you better."
The episode centers on a money-making challenge, with the cast working a peach farm and a food service shift to earn cash. The peach segment focuses on "sinbi," a seasonal variety with a harvest window of only about two weeks. Members split into picking and sorting teams, though a few spend more time eating the fruit than picking it.
The sorting round turns into its own comedy. Some members quietly hand Yang Se-chan the sweetest peaches in an attempt to boost their pay grade. The slackers end up with a daily wage of just 5,000 won.
The food service round pushes the chaos further. Tasked with cooking real dishes, a few members secretly boil jjajang ramyeon on the side. Yoo Jae-suk catches them, then gives in to the smell and joins the group. Kim Jong-kook eventually comes looking for them, raising the stakes.
MIYEON leans into her scatterbrained side throughout the episode. Running an errand for Yang Se-chan, she mishears "maesil-cheong" (plum syrup) as "sikhye" (sweet rice drink) and forgets a key ingredient. Yang Se-chan keeps repeating the same question back to her, prompting MIYEON to ask if he is feeling okay. Their back-and-forth becomes one of the running gags of the episode.
