Singer Lyn Opens Up About Divorce From Lee Soo One Year Later

Korean singer Lyn is speaking publicly about her divorce for the first time, roughly a year after the split. On the July 5 broadcast of SBS variety show "My Little Old Boy," she sat down with fellow singer K.Will for a candid conversation about marriage and its end.

"I chose divorce, but I still recommend marriage," Lyn said early in the segment. "I had a truly happy marriage, and what's left of it is something beautiful."

She then spoke about her ex-husband, singer Lee Soo. "He was such a close friend," she said. "It's not just that I lost a husband. It feels like I lost a really good friend, and that part is sad and hard. We didn't end things on bad terms, so I'll always be rooting for him."

Watching from the studio, host Shin Dong-yup said the feeling made sense because the two had been close friends before anything else. Lyn's mother agreed, saying that was exactly why the situation felt so unfortunate.

The conversation stayed frank, but K.Will kept the mood light. He joked that Lyn should save the full divorce talk for his YouTube channel, "Aldeon Hyeongsu," drawing laughs from the panel.

Lyn and Lee Soo announced their split in August of last year. The couple married in 2014 and ended their marriage after 11 years. Their agency said at the time that the decision was not caused by any fault or wrongdoing on either side, and that it was reached through mutual agreement.
