Super Junior's Kyuhyun is returning to variety television with a new thriller talk show, roughly a year after his stint on Netflix's "Devil's Plan: Death Room." This time, he joins as a regular cast member on a series built around real-life encounters with dangerous personalities.

"The Psychopath I Met" premieres December 12 at 10 p.m. KST on MBN and SBS Plus. The show is a true-story-based thriller talk program that examines firsthand experiences with psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists, and other antisocial personalities hiding in plain sight. Each episode combines dramatized reenactments of real cases, discussion from the storytellers, and analysis from experts.

Broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo hosts the program, marking his first time leading a thriller variety show since his debut. He is joined by three storytellers: Kyuhyun of Super Junior, rapper Nucksal, and Heo Young-ji of KARA. The four will walk through everyday criminal cases and talk about how to respond to them.

"I'm excited to take on a new program after a while," Kyuhyun said. "The topic is a field I've been personally interested in, which makes it even better."

He added that the show delivers both a wake-up call and useful information. "It's a string of stories you can barely believe are real, so you become more aware and pick up things you didn't know. I think it's worth watching in a lot of ways." Fans who watched Kyuhyun show off his reasoning skills on Netflix's "Devil's Plan: Death Room," released last May, will be watching to see what he brings to this format.

Nucksal leaned into humor about the assignment. "It's moving that a scaredy-cat like me became a storyteller. Let's learn together how to spot psychopaths and stay away from them," he said. He also promised heavy material. "You'll meet truly horrible, scary cases and real-life psychopaths who make you ask, 'Is this even human?' Fellow scaredy-cats, this is required viewing."

Heo Young-ji said the concept caught her attention from the start. "I was really curious about this program from the moment I heard the subject, so I'm happy to be part of it," she said. "I get emotionally invested easily, and the episodes I came across while filming were more shocking and intense than I expected. I found myself getting completely drawn in. I hope viewers enjoy it too."

She pointed to the show's grounding in real testimony as its strongest hook. "The biggest draw is how immersive it is, because everything comes from vivid stories based on actual experiences."
