BLACKPINK's Jennie Shares Poolside Photos
BLACKPINK's Jennie has become the first K-pop artist to headline two of Europe's biggest summer music festivals on back-to-back nights.
On July 3, Jennie headlined the Roskilde Festival in Denmark, Northern Europe's largest music festival. The following night, on July 4, she took the top slot at the Open'er Festival in Poland, Central Europe's biggest festival. No K-pop act had ever headlined both marquee European festivals on consecutive nights before.
Thomas Sønderby Jepsen, head of music at Roskilde, praised her booking. "Jennie is an artist who firmly anchors the festival's identity, our present trends and future ideals," he said. Open'er organizers called her "the most influential female artist of this era."
Ahead of the shows, Jennie shared a look at her downtime. She posted photos of herself relaxing in a leopard-print bikini from a brand she has previously worked with. The suit retails for 164,500 won, or roughly $120.
The double booking marks another milestone in Jennie's solo run, which has increasingly positioned her as a global festival draw rather than only a K-pop headliner. For a genre still fighting for space on European main stages, back-to-back top billings at Roskilde and Open'er signal that K-pop's biggest solo acts are now being programmed at the same level as the West's leading pop and rock names.
