NCT's Jaehyun Releases Self-Written Ballad '99 Degrees'

NCT member Jaehyun will release his new single "99 Degrees" on July 10, marking his latest solo project with a song he both wrote and composed.

The single and its accompanying music video will be released at 6 p.m. KST through global streaming platforms and the SMTOWN YouTube channel.

"99 Degrees" is a piano-led ballad that gradually builds into a fuller instrumental arrangement before ending with Jaehyun's vocals alone. The song uses the idea of being 99 degrees, one degree short of boiling, as a metaphor for finding completeness through imperfection rather than perfection.

The music video follows Jaehyun as he revisits places from his past, reflecting on old memories before moving forward with a greater sense of self-acceptance.

Through SM Entertainment, Jaehyun said he was glad to finally share a song he had written and composed himself.

"I hope listeners can feel the meaning of discovering something truly complete through imperfection," he said. "I hope '99 Degrees' brings a small sense of comfort to Czennies and everyone who listens to it. I also wish everyone a healthy and happy summer."
