'Geoje Yaho' Viral Stars RESCENE Named Geoje City Ambassadors

Rising girl group RESCENE is heading back to Geoje, this time as official city ambassadors. The trip will air on MBC's variety show "Omniscient Interfering View" (Jeonjijeok Chamgyeon Sijeom), episode 406, on Friday at 11:10 p.m. KST.

The group first drew attention in Geoje during a content shoot at member Wonie's hometown. A short clip of Japanese member Minami, dressed in gyaru-style makeup, shouting "Geoje Yaho!" spread quickly across Korean social media. The video pushed RESCENE into the growing pool of rookie acts being called the next big thing. The city later named the group its official ambassadors and invited them back.

On the show, a red carpet and welcome banners were set up for their arrival. Geoje's vice mayor greeted the members, and RESCENE thanked the city with the poise of hometown stars. A small fan meeting followed, drawing an enthusiastic local crowd. According to the program, Wonie was moved to tears when she reunited with people from her past in her hometown.

The episode also traces how RESCENE got here. Their agency director, described as having the visuals of an idol himself, joins the members to look back on the group's early days. He started the company with just 10 million won and built the team himself. The members practiced in a basement studio where water leaked and the air conditioner did not work. In their hungriest stretch, they took any stage they could get, including elementary school field day events.

Viewers will also get their first look at the group's new home. The members are moving out of a dorm where five of them shared one bathroom. The new place has three bathrooms, plus air conditioning in every room. Their agency director paid for and designed the interior himself.
