Actor Lee Dong-wook is set to share a surprising story about his military days with co-star Gong Yoo, revealing the two once served together in the South Korean army. The reveal comes on the final episode of tvN's 20th anniversary special "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God 10th Anniversary," airing July 12 at 9:10 p.m. KST.

The program marks 10 years since the hit fantasy drama "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" first aired, reuniting stars Gong Yoo, Lee Dong-wook, Kim Go-eun, and Yoo In-na for a two-day trip to Gangneung. Sunday's finale follows the four actors through the second day of their getaway.

The episode opens with Gong Yoo cooking a hangover meal first thing in the morning. His playful back-and-forth with Kim Go-eun plays like a decade-old married couple, drawing laughs from the group. Lee Dong-wook shows a quietly warm side by handing Yoo In-na a surprise gift.

A yut nori match, the traditional Korean board game, follows, with dish duty on the line. Gong Yoo jumps in to set the rules from the start. The four actors tease each other throughout the game, and the teams, Gong Yoo with Yoo In-na and Lee Dong-wook with Kim Go-eun, reportedly stayed neck-and-neck until the final moment.

In a preview clip released ahead of the broadcast, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook reveal they first met not on set but in the military. Lee Dong-wook said he was a private when Gong Yoo was already a sergeant. "I couldn't even look him in the eye," he said. "I'm only saying this now, but I used to wash all of Gong Yoo's underwear and socks." The story drew laughs from the group.
