Global Group GIRLSET Continues New Era With "CHAT" Rollout
Global girl group GIRLSET has been building anticipation for its upcoming pre-release single "CHAT" through an unconventional promotional campaign spanning both online platforms and major U.S. cities. Formerly known as VCHA, the quartet which consists of Camila, Lexi, Kendall and Savanna, has been leaving cryptic clues across social media while eye-catching billboards and public dance performances have begun appearing in cities including New York and Los Angeles ahead of the song's July 17 release.
Managed by JYP Entertainment in partnership with Republic Records, the group was originally formed through the 2023 survival series A2K. Following the departures of two members, the group officially rebranded from VCHA to GIRLSET in the summer of 2025, marking the beginning of a new chapter with a refreshed musical and visual identity. Since then, the group has released singles including "Commas," "Little Miss," and most recently "Tweak," which arrived in March and helped generate renewed momentum across social media platforms while introducing audiences to the group's evolving sound.
The visual concept also signals a noticeable shift for the group. Newly released teaser images replace the bright, youthful styling associated with VCHA's early releases with darker fashion, grungier aesthetics and a more confident image. Rather than continuing the pastel-inspired visuals that characterized their debut, GIRLSET appears to be embracing a more mature direction as the group continues defining its post-rebrand identity.
More broadly, "CHAT" arrives at an important point in the group's career. Although the members first entered the industry through A2K in 2023, GIRLSET has yet to experience a prolonged and consistent promotional cycle following its debut. With the rebrand now complete, this comeback is expected to serve as the group's strongest push yet to establish its new identity. It also comes as more entertainment companies continue investing in globally focused acts, making GIRLSET's next chapter one to watch as the quartet seeks to carve out its place in an increasingly competitive market.
GIRLSET will officially kick off promotions for "CHAT" with an appearance on KBS2's Music Bank on July 17, marking one of the group's first Korean music show promotions under its new identity. According to the group's published schedule, promotional activities will continue throughout the month with stops in cities including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas and Los Angeles, reflecting an international rollout.
