Song Hye-kyo Eyes New Chapter With Fresh Management After UAA Split

Actress Song Hye-kyo is preparing a fresh start with a new management company. Her side confirmed on July 12 that she is aligning on next steps with a longtime associate from her overseas career.

"Song Hye-kyo is building a shared vision for her future activities with an industry figure she has known and trusted for a long time, dating back to her overseas work," a representative told Xportsnews. "We ask for your understanding that we cannot share specifics at this time."

An earlier report said Song Hye-kyo is in talks to sign with a new management company being launched by AAP chief executive Shin Jae-ho. Shin first worked with the actress during her activities in China and has reportedly continued to handle her local business there since. He is also known as the husband of a stylist who has worked with Song Hye-kyo for more than 20 years.

Last month, Song Hye-kyo wrapped her exclusive contract with UAA after about 14 years with the company. At the time, UAA said, "UAA and Song Hye-kyo, who have trusted each other over a long stretch of time, have decided to close this chapter of their journey together and cheer each other on toward the future. We ask fans for their warm attention, encouragement, and love as Song Hye-kyo stands at a new starting line."

The actress also shared her own message on social media. "I was truly happy and grateful during my time with UAA. I will always keep every moment we shared as a precious memory," she wrote. "I sincerely cheer for every day ahead for UAA." She added a personal note to UAA chief executive Park Hyun-jung, who worked with her for years: "Unnie, thank you."

During her run with UAA, Song Hye-kyo hit another career peak with the drama "Descendants of the Sun." The project led to her marriage and later divorce with actor Song Joong-ki. She went on to earn strong reviews for her acting in the Netflix series "The Glory," extending her standing as one of the industry's top actresses. She is also attached to an upcoming Netflix original project.
