Pianist Hwang Su-ji, Cousin of ILLIT's Wonhee, Wraps First Solo Concert
Pianist Hwang Su-ji, the cousin of ILLIT member Wonhee, has wrapped her first solo recital. She shared her thoughts with fans on social media shortly after the show.
"Recital done!!" Hwang Su-ji wrote in a recent post. "I built the setlist around music I really love, and it made me so happy that everyone enjoyed it." She added that a short fan signing after the concert gave her a chance to talk with attendees. "Reading through the flowers, gifts and letters one by one made me think again about why I do music," she wrote.
Photos she shared showed her smiling with a purple bouquet from fans and performing on stage in a floral-print dress. The look leaned elegant and understated.
Hwang Su-ji first drew public attention on the dating variety show "Love Catcher." During the show she said she was often told she looked like IVE's Jang Won-young, a comment that quickly spread online. Since then she has kept her focus on her main career as a pianist.
Meanwhile, ILLIT's "It's Me" continues to perform well at home and abroad. More than two months after release, the song is holding a top spot on major Korean streaming platforms. It has also charted for eight straight weeks on Billboard's Global 200 and Global Excl. U.S. charts.
