BLACKPINK Jennie's New MV Leading Man Kai Speaks Out in First Interview

Taiwanese model Kai, the male lead in Jennie's new music video, has spoken publicly for the first time since the video's teaser drew global attention.

Fashion magazine Dazed Korea released the interview clip on its official social media on the 21st. In the video, Kai appears in a sleeveless top, showing off his sharp features, long black hair, and quiet model presence. One moment catches him smiling toward the camera while getting his makeup done.

Asked to recommend a summer getaway, Kai pointed to Xiaoliuqiu, a small island off the coast of Pingtung County in southern Taiwan. "It's a small island, so three days is just about the right length of time to enjoy it," he said. "There's a lot of good food, and the ocean is clean." He closed the interview with a smile and a short greeting in Korean: "Thank you. Goodbye."

Kai first drew attention as the man in a couple photo Jennie recently shared on her Instagram Story. His face was covered by a heart sticker at the time, which sparked dating rumors. The mystery was solved when the teaser for Jennie's new single "Less than a Lover" dropped and revealed him as the video's leading man.

Jennie's new single "Less than a Lover" is set for release on the 24th at 1 p.m. KST.
