fromis_9's Park Jiwon Makes Musical Theater Debut in 'Hell's Kitchen'

fromis_9 member Park Jiwon is expanding her career into musical theater. She takes the stage for the first time as a musical performer on July 28, when "Hell's Kitchen" opens at the GS Arts Center in Seoul's Gangnam district.

It is her first musical role since her debut. She plays the lead character, Ali.

"Hell's Kitchen" is set in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan in the 1990s. The story follows Ali, a teenage girl who discovers her dreams and her identity through music. The production draws on the life and music of American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys.

The character Ali is a teenager living with her mother. She has spent her life under her mother's watchful eye, but music opens up a wider world for her, and she starts to shape a life of her own.

Ahead of her first performance, Park Jiwon shared a message through her agency, Ascendio. "This is my first time on a musical stage since my debut, so I'm nervous, but the excitement is even greater," she said. "I've worked hard to bring Ali's story to audiences with sincerity. I hope you'll show us a lot of love and interest."

fromis_9 recently released its second full-length album, "Glow ME," and is in the middle of comeback promotions. With the musical, Park Jiwon takes on a new challenge alongside her work with the group.
