YG Entertainment has provided a new update on the five-member boy group and four-member girl group it is preparing to debut. In a "FROM YG" letter posted on the company's official blog on October 14, executive producer Yang Hyun Suk said both teams plan to record a number of demos by the end of the year. The girl group is currently known by the tentative name NEXT MONSTER.

Yang said the two groups would play an important role in YG's future alongside TREASURE and BABYMONSTER. The company expects to have a clearer idea of their debut timelines once their title tracks are finalized. It has not announced which group will debut first or set a date for either debut.

Yang also outlined upcoming releases from YG's current acts. BABYMONSTER will release the digital single "DESERVE" on October 23. He described it as a slower-paced song that builds to an emotional climax through the group's vocals. YG is aiming to release the group's next album in early 2027, though Yang did not specify its format.

TREASURE will release the digital single "SHOCK" on November 2. Yang said the song features a powerful hip-hop sound and continues the change in musical direction that began with the group's June mini album "NEW WAV." He also indicated that TREASURE's activities would continue into 2027.

The update puts the rookies' next steps alongside release plans for YG's existing groups. The two debuts would expand the company's artist lineup, but their timing remains undecided. Yang said he would share more news in another "YG ANNOUNCEMENT" video toward the end of the year.
