GOT7's Youngjae Receives Overdue Payment From 'Dream High Season 2' Producer
The production company behind the musical "Dream High Season 2" has paid the overdue performance fees it owed to GOT7 member Youngjae. The settlement closes a dispute that had dragged on for nearly a year.
Artone Company, the producer of "Dream High Season 2," released an official statement on August 3. "We have completed mutual confirmation and discussions with actor Youngjae regarding the settlement of performance fees for 'Dream High Season 2,' and the related payment has been completed," the company said.
The producer added that it had reviewed unpaid fees across the entire production, not only Youngjae's case. "We have carried out a full re-inspection of unpaid fees for all actors, dancers, and staff who participated in 'Dream High Season 2,' and for the cases identified, payments have either been completed after discussion or are currently in progress," the statement read.
Artone Company also apologized. "We take this matter seriously and will do our best to prevent similar issues from happening again through more thorough management and responsible operation," the company said. "We will further inspect and improve our settlement and production systems."
Youngjae first took legal action against the producer in January, saying he had not been paid for his work on the musical. He continued to raise the issue on social media in the months that followed. In July, he wrote that "by August, it will have been almost a year without resolution."
"Dream High" is an original musical based on the 2011 Korean drama of the same name. It premiered in 2023 and returned as "Dream High Season 2" in 2025. Artone Company is currently preparing "Dream High Season 3."
