NCT WISH's Jaehee Throws Ceremonial First Pitch at Samsung Lions Game
NCT WISH member Jaehee made a special appearance at a Korean professional baseball game this week, taking part in the ceremonial first pitch before his hometown team, the Samsung Lions, took the field.
Jaehee was invited to throw the opening pitch ahead of the 2026 Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) League game between the Samsung Lions and Hanwha Eagles on Aug. 4 at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu. Throwing the ceremonial first pitch is a long-standing tradition in Korean sports, with celebrities often invited to help kick off major games. Jaehee received loud cheers from the crowd for his confident pitch and drew applause after staying behind to tidy up the mound.
The invitation was especially meaningful for the artist, who grew up in Daegu. "I was born and raised in Daegu, so I have many memories of coming to Samsung Lions Park with my family and friends," he said. "It was an honor to throw the first pitch here. I hope I can come back as a good luck charm for the team next time. Go Samsung Lions!"
The appearance continued NCT WISH's recent connection with baseball. Just days earlier, the group traveled to Taiwan, where the members threw ceremonial first pitches and performed at a Wei Chuan Dragons game at Taipei Dome.
NCT WISH will next perform at the 2026 SBS Gayo Daejeon Summer music festival on Aug. 9 at KINTEX in Goyang.
