Kim Min-ha Opens Up About 37-Pound Weight Loss on 'Moo No Plan 4'
Actress Kim Min-ha, who recently drew attention after losing 17 kilograms (about 37 pounds), is set to open up about the change on Korean variety show "Moo No Plan 4." The sixth episode airs Friday at 9:10 p.m. KST on MBN and Channel S.
In the episode, host Jun Hyun-moo and YouTuber-turned-TV personality Kwak Tube (real name Kwak Joon-bin) reunite with their "eating buddy" Kim for the second installment of their tour through Incheon's old-school restaurants. The theme: "The old guard never dies."
Returning to Incheon after last week's episode, Jun says the city keeps surprising him. "No matter how much you dig, there are still more old restaurants here," he says. "The first spot today was personally recommended by our driver, an Incheon native." The trio heads to an electric-grilled whole chicken restaurant that has been open since 1979.
Inside the well-worn dining room, the three sample the restaurant's electric-grilled chicken and samgyetang, a traditional ginseng chicken soup. Over the meal, Jun starts to share a childhood memory. "Back in the day, whenever my mom made samgyetang..." he begins. Kwak listens on, visibly surprised by the story that follows.
Jun then teases the identity of the day's eating buddy. "I was shocked in a way I've rarely been before when I saw this person," he says. "It felt like the first time I saw Kim Sung-kyun." Moments later, Kim Min-ha arrives. Kwak can't hide his surprise, while Jun greets her warmly.
The conversation continues in the car on the way to the next restaurant. "You look like a completely different person from when we met at last year's Blue Dragon Series Awards," Jun tells her. Kim responds candidly. "The weight loss thing must really be a hot topic," she says. "I wondered if it was really that big of a deal."
The moment reflects how quickly small physical changes can turn into major storylines in Korean entertainment, where actor transformations are often dissected in real time across social media and news outlets. For Kim, the variety show appearance offers a rare chance to address the chatter directly, in her own words.
