Who Will Be the Next 'Music Core' MCs? Gyuvin and Dohoon to Step Down

K-pop idols Gyubin of AND2BLE and Dohoon of TWS are stepping down as hosts of MBC's weekly music show "Show! Music Core." Their final episode airs on Aug. 22 at 3:20 p.m. KST, closing out about 17 months on the program.

The two took over hosting duties on March 1, 2024, meeting viewers each week alongside co-host Aena. Ahead of their last broadcast, both looked back on the run.

"It was truly an honor to shine in such a grateful and precious opportunity," Gyubin said. "Being together with Dohoon and Aena made it an even more meaningful and valuable time." He added that the experience gave him "great nourishment" for future work and would remain an unforgettable memory. He also thanked the production team for their hard work.

Dohoon called the show "a precious time that helped me get to know myself better and grow." He said the weekly routine had become part of his everyday life, making the goodbye harder. "Every moment I experienced here will stay with me for a long time," he said.

He continued, "I'll use these memories as a stepping stone and work hard to come back as an even more developed version of Dohoon of TWS." He thanked viewers, the group's fandom 42, and the staff who looked after him throughout his run.

Both hosts are staying busy with their group activities. TWS released its second Japanese single, ";SODA SODA," on Aug. 4. AND2BLE wrapped a four-city Asia showcase tour last month.

Idol MCs have long been a fixture of Korean music shows, giving young artists a weekly stage to build presence beyond their own comebacks. The turnover of "Show! Music Core" hosts also signals a new rotation ahead for one of the country's longest-running music programs. Attention is now turning to who will take over as the next MCs.
