Actor Lee Dong-wook's Kind Gesture Toward Comedian Moon Sang-hoon Goes Viral
South Korean actor Lee Dong-wook quietly picked up the tab for comedian Moon Sang-hoon and his friends at a restaurant, and the story is now making the rounds online. The comedian shared the moment on the YouTube channel BDNS in a video posted on the 9th, titled "Moon Sang-hoon Falling for Lee Dong-wook Over 30 Minutes."
In the video, Moon looked back on a meal he had with friends at a nice restaurant. He said someone in the group had offered to treat everyone that day, so he had cut back on spending all week to get ready for it. "We ordered everything we wanted, and we pretty much went through the entire menu," he said.
Lee happened to be sitting at the table right behind them. The two exchanged a quick greeting. When Moon walked over to pay after the meal, he was told the bill had already been settled. Lee had covered his entire table before leaving. "Ever since then, I've tried to do the same for other people when I see them out," Moon said.
Lee later explained that he had never actually met Moon in person before that day, but had been subscribed to his channel for a long time. He also said he had heard about Moon through comedian Yoo Byung-jae. "I knew he was shy, so I appreciated him coming over to say hello even though it wasn't easy for him," Lee said. "And in the end, I paid because he's Byung-jae's friend."
The exchange has drawn attention as a small window into how quietly generous gestures move through the Korean entertainment industry, where personal networks and mutual respect between actors, comedians, and creators often play out away from cameras.
