BLACKPINK's Lisa Shares Grand Canyon Photos After 10th Anniversary Fan Meeting
BLACKPINK member Lisa is spending time in the United States after the group's 10th anniversary fan meeting in Seoul. On August 11, she posted a series of photos to her Instagram Stories without any caption.
The images show Lisa visiting the Grand Canyon with friends. She styled a pair of earphones tied over her leggings like a waist strap in one shot and posed showing off her back view in another, looking relaxed on vacation.
Days earlier, on August 8, BLACKPINK marked its 10th debut anniversary with a fan meeting at the National Museum of Korea in Yongsan district, Seoul. The event drew complaints from fans after the group's agency, YG Entertainment, announced it just two days in advance and capped attendance at 40 people.
The four members later held a live broadcast to address the backlash. Eldest member Jisoo told viewers the group had wanted to meet more fans on such an important day. "There seems to have been a problem with communication," she said. "I really want to say I'm sorry to the fans who were hurt, and that I love them." Jisoo was reported to have cried as she left the venue.
The anniversary event also triggered a formal complaint filed with South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The complainant argued that the fan meeting caused parts of the museum's exhibition space to be closed off and scheduled programs to be changed. The filing asked the ministry to review how the event was approved to take place at the National Museum of Korea. The complaint has been assigned to the ministry's audit office and is set to be processed by the 19th.
