LUCY's Choi Sang-yeop to Marry This Month, Band Activities to Continue
Choi Sang-yeop, vocalist of the Korean band LUCY, is getting married this month.
His agency, Mystic Story, shared the news on August 17, and the singer followed with a handwritten letter to fans the same day.
"Choi Sang-yeop is preparing for a new beginning in August with a person who has become very meaningful to him," Mystic Story said in its statement. The agency acknowledged that fans might be caught off guard by the announcement and asked for their warm support.
The ceremony will be held privately out of consideration for the bride, who is not a public figure. "We ask for your understanding that specific details cannot be shared," the agency said. Choi Sang-yeop plans to continue with LUCY after the wedding.
In his letter, the singer told fans directly about the news. "I am about to start a new chapter of life with someone I have cared for and leaned on for a long time," he wrote. "As I have until now, I will hold on to my feelings and sense of responsibility for music without change, and I will do my best to give back with better music and a better presence on stage."
LUCY is a four-member band that debuted in the Korean music scene in 2020. Their releases include "Gaehwa," "Jogging," and "She's In My Head." The group will hold an encore solo concert, "Island," at Korea University's Hwajeong Gymnasium in Seoul from October 23 to 25.
