HYBE has donated 1 billion Colombian pesos, approximately $300,000, to support relief and recovery efforts following the devastating earthquake that struck Colombia earlier this month.

The donation was made through HYBE America on behalf of the entertainment company and will be coordinated by Colombian nonprofit Fundación Ábaco. The funds are expected to support both immediate humanitarian needs and longer-term recovery efforts as affected communities begin rebuilding from the damage.

On August 10, a 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, leaving widespread destruction across the region. As of August 16, authorities reported 289 deaths and 143 people missing, while nearly 4,000 people were injured. More than 14,000 homes and other structures were also reported to have been completely destroyed. For now, many communities have slowly begun rebuilding with the priority of finding loved ones and reconnecting with family members. Furthermore, various organizations have also been aiding these communities, providing, food, daily necessities and more for the affected.

HYBE's contribution comes amid ongoing search-and-rescue and relief operations, with organizations working to distribute food, medical assistance and emergency supplies to communities affected by the disaster.

The company also has growing ties to Colombia, particularly in Medellín, through its involvement in the local music industry. HYBE and chairman Bang Si-Hyuk have previously participated in Medellín Music Lab, a city-backed initiative aimed at supporting emerging artists and connecting young musicians with the wider music business.

HYBE has continued to expand its presence across Latin America as part of its broader global strategy. Through HYBE America, the company oversees operations and investments across the region while expanding the K-POP market and supplementing their roster of artists.
