K-pop group BIGBANG unfolded a career-spanning show that traced 20 years of hits, from group anthems to solo sets shaped by each member's style. The past and present of one of K-pop's most influential acts filled the stadium in a single night.

BIGBANG held its 20th anniversary world tour "BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS > IN GOYANG," presented with Coupang Play, on Sunday at Goyang Stadium in Ilsanseo district, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province. It was the final night of a three-day run that began Friday.

The group opened with the hit "Fantastic Baby." A roar filled the venue the moment the intro played. "Tonight," "BLUE," "LOSER" and "BAE BAE" followed in quick succession, compressing two decades of hits into the opening stretch. Taeyang's loose ad-libs added a live-only feel to the set. The energy peaked with "Haru Haru" and "Lies," as fans shouted the group's official cheers back at the stage.

With familiar hits running one after another, the show worked even for casual listeners. The audience spanned generations. Longtime fans stood alongside mothers who had brought elementary school-aged children. It was a clear picture of how the group's music has carried across more than one generation.

After the opening set, the members greeted the crowd. G-Dragon shouted "BIGBANG is back," pulling another wave of cheers. Daesung drew laughs by mimicking G-Dragon's speaking style, then introduced himself as "Daesung, who has been singing for 20 years now." Taeyang loosened the crowd with impressions of his own before turning serious. "Tonight is the last show of this run," he said. "I hope you pour out all your energy with us."

True to the tour name, the production leaned into a cosmic theme. Large screens played images of blue galaxies and planets that suggested a vast, open universe. In the audience, the history of the fandom was visible too. Older and newer versions of the group's light sticks glowed side by side. Fans who had not been able to get a group light stick waved individual member light sticks instead. Together, the different light sticks glowing in blue and yellow made the stands look like a field of stars.

The solo sets brought out each member's musical identity. Daesung leaned into his side as a trot singer with "Look at Me, Gwisoon" and "Hando Chogwa." The stadium camera caught his playful facial expressions in close-up, which sharpened the comedy of the moment.

Taeyang and G-Dragon also performed solo stages. Even with pillars of flame rising from the stage in mid-summer heat, they kept moving. For an audience that included both die-hard fans and general listeners, the solo portions doubled as a reminder of each member's individual catalog.

The stage outfits, on the other hand, felt out of step with the season. G-Dragon wore a fuzzy hat during his solo, while Taeyang performed in thick gloves and a heavy jacket with fuzzy trim. Daesung wore a leather jacket with fuzzy trim and leather pants during a group number. Daytime temperatures had topped 30 degrees Celsius (86 F), and even after sunset it stayed around 26 C (79 F). As the choreography intensified, the members were visibly drenched in sweat.

Before the encore, the main set closed with "HOME SWEET HOME." For BIGBANG, back together for a full-group concert after nearly eight years, the song carried an added resonance: after a long absence, they were back home onstage.

BIGBANG released the new digital single "BiiiG" on Aug. 19 to mark its 20th debut anniversary, returning with new music as a full group. "Our activities ended in just a week," Daesung said, sounding disappointed. Taeyang answered back with a joke. "It's a shame to end things with just one 'BIG' song. If we stop here, it's an 'XS,' not a 'BIG.'" The line left the door open to more activity.

Standing together on stage after so long carried extra weight for the members. "It's been eight years and eight months since we performed," Taeyang said. "The 20 years went by so fast." He then added, with a smile, "At this rate, maybe we can keep performing until we're 88."

The Goyang concerts open a global run that will take BIGBANG to 19 cities across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia, for a total of 33 shows.
