Dragon Pony Bassist Pyeon Seong-hyeon Leaves Group After Hiatus
Korean band Dragon Pony is parting ways with its bassist. Agency Antenna announced on Aug. 25 that Pyun Sung-hyun is leaving the group, ending his run with the band effective the same day.
In its statement, Antenna said the company and Pyun Sung-hyun had discussed his future activities over a long period. After what the agency described as extensive conversations, both sides mutually agreed to end his exclusive contract.
The remaining three members, Ahn Tae-gyu, Kwon Se-hyuk, and Ko Kang-hoon, will continue as Dragon Pony. "We ask for your warm support as Dragon Pony and Pyun Sung-hyun each move forward on their own paths," Antenna said.
The agency also apologized to fans for the abrupt news. "We deeply apologize for the concern this sudden announcement may cause our fans," the company said, adding that it would do its best to help Dragon Pony return with better music.
Dragon Pony debuted in September 2024 with the EP "POP UP." The band has since released tracks including "Moseubuho," "Not Out," and "POP UP." Pyun Sung-hyun had already stepped back from group activities the previous month due to health reasons before the contract termination closed out his time with the band.
