Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon Lead Disney+ Fantasy Romance "The Remarried Empress," Out Nov. 4
Disney+ has set November 4 as the premiere date for "The Remarried Empress," a fantasy romance adapted from the global hit webtoon. The series stars Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young in a tangled royal love story.
"The Remarried Empress" follows Navier (Shin Min-a), the flawless empress of the Eastern Empire. Her husband, Emperor Sovieshu (Ju Ji-hoon), falls for a runaway slave named Rashta (Lee Se-young) and hands Navier a divorce. Instead of resisting, Navier accepts, then asks for permission to remarry Prince Heinrey (Lee Jong-suk) of the Western Kingdom. The story unfolds from there as a sweeping romance fantasy epic.
The original webtoon of the same name has drawn 2.97 billion cumulative global views as of July 2026. This is its first live-action adaptation, and the casting of Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young drew attention from the moment it was announced.
The newly released teaser opens on a sweeping view of the powerful Eastern Empire and its empress, Navier. Sovieshu vows to her, "No matter what happens, you are my only wife." Then Rashta appears, and cracks begin to show in the couple's marriage. The teaser cuts between Sovieshu falling for Rashta, Rashta soaking in her sudden happiness, and Navier watching it all unfold.
The arrival of Prince Heinrey pulls the four characters into deeper conflict. Heinrey grows closer to Navier as he offers her comfort, and Sovieshu watches with jealousy and anger. He eventually tells Navier he wants a divorce. Navier flips the situation by accepting on one condition: approval to remarry.
The character posters released alongside the teaser show each actor's transformation. Shin Min-a appears as Navier in an elaborate gown and jewelry, capturing the empress's elegance and poise. The tagline, "I request approval to remarry," reflects a woman who refuses to break under a divorce notice and instead chooses her own next chapter.
Ju Ji-hoon sits on the throne as Sovieshu, radiating imperial authority. The tagline "I must divorce the empress" hints at a man about to break the lifelong promise he made to Navier.
Lee Jong-suk plays Heinrey with princely charm, shown leaning in to kiss someone's hand. His line, "It is an honor to meet you, my queen," teases the new relationship starting with Navier.
Lee Se-young appears as Rashta with a bright smile and glamorous styling. The tagline "Rashta is so happy these days!" captures her leap from runaway slave to the emperor's favorite.
"The Remarried Empress" premieres November 4 on Disney+.
