BLACKPINK Tops K-POPIT BOARD as Solo Rush Begins...Will Rosé Be Next?

BLACKPINK has risen to No. 1 on the K-POPIT Board as a wave of solo music announcements from Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo puts renewed attention on the group shortly after their 10th year anniversary as a group.

According to K-POPIT BOARD, the K-POP analytics index, BLACKPINK ranked No. 1 on the GLOBAL Rise Chart on August 27 with a Power Index (PWR_GL) score of 70. The Power Index combines data from music charts, social media activity and news coverage to measure an artist's overall momentum.

The rise comes as three of BLACKPINK's four members prepare to release new solo music within the coming weeks, creating an unusually concentrated period of individual activity from the group.

JENNIE will be the first member to make a solo comeback with her new EP, "Fallen Angel,"on August 28. The three-track digital EP will include its title track alongside "HEAVEN"and the previously released "Less Than A Lover."This release will mark her first solo-comeback since her first full-length album "Ruby,"which was released last year.

LISA is next in line with new releases as "SaWaDiKa,"the first single from her upcoming EP "PRESS PLAY,"will release on September 3rd internationally and September 4th at 9 a.m KST. The EP however, is scheduled for release on October 23rd, following her 2025 solo album "Alter Ego."Furthermore the project seems to continue being influenced by Lisa's Thai roots, a key point which has drawn a lot of attention amongst audiences.

Following some hours later on September 4th, JISOO will release her new solo single titled "CLICK."This will mark her first solo release in 11 months following her collaboration "EYES CLOSED"with Zayn last October. The gap comes as JISOO has notably been focused on her acting career, starring in the zombie series "Newtopia"and making her big-screen debut in "Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy"in 2025, before taking the lead role in Netflix's romantic comedy "Boyfriend on Demand"earlier this year.

With all three out of four BLACKPINK members announcing new music within a short period, attention has naturally begun to shift towards Rosé, who is currently the only BLACKPINK member without an officially announced solo comeback or single release.

Rosé last released her first full-length album, rosie, in December 2024. While no new release has been confirmed, the sudden activity from the other three members has led fans to speculate over whether she could eventually join BLACKPINK's latest wave of solo promotions.

The simultaneous attention surrounding the members' individual careers appears to be translating into momentum for BLACKPINK as a whole, helping push the quartet to the top of today's K-POPIT Board rankings.
