"I Quit": No Rift Between i-dle's Soyeon and Cube
i-dle's Soyeon is releasing a song about quitting a job, featuring narration by webtoon artist and TV personality Kian84.
Cube Entertainment unveiled the tracklist for her first solo studio album, "What a Wonderful Life," on i-dle's official social media accounts on Aug. 27. The eight-track album is led by "I Quit (Narr. Kian84)."
Soyeon had earlier posted an Instagram story showing her hand reaching toward the Cube Entertainment logo, alongside the caption "I quit." The post prompted speculation that she was leaving the agency. With the same phrase now revealed as the title of her lead single, the post appears to have been a teaser for the song.
The tracklist artwork takes the form of a resignation letter displayed on a CRT monitor. The letter reads, "I wish to resign to begin the wonderful life I can no longer put off," linking the album's title to the theme of its lead single.
The album includes several songs previously introduced through performances and music videos. Among them are "icebluerabbit," which Soyeon performed during i-dle's world tour, the EDM track "STAR" and the playful "I Hate Vegetables Song."
"Amigo (Feat. Minsu)" samples Madonna's "Like a Virgin." The remaining tracks are "Bankroll," "Can't We Just Love" and "Sending Off Romance."
Soyeon participated in the creation of all eight tracks, with producers GroovyRoom and R.Tee also contributing to the album.
"What a Wonderful Life" is due out Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. KST.
