Mark Lee Opens 'MARK's Voice Mailbox' Hotline, Draws 21,000 Calls in First Hour

Singer Mark Lee is picking up the phone, in a sense. Mark has launched an interactive voicemail event that lets fans call a real phone number, hear a message he recorded, and leave one of their own.

Mark announced the project, titled "MARK's Voice Mailbox," on his official social media accounts on Aug. 28. The post featured an image with the line "MY FRIEND, LEAVE ME A MESSAGE" alongside a working phone number fans can dial.

The event runs for one month, from Aug. 28 through Sept. 28. Callers who connect to the listed number can listen to a voice message recorded by Mark, then record their own message at the end of the call.

Demand was heavy from the start. In the first hour after launch, beginning at midnight KST, the line logged a combined 21,862 call attempts, including calls that did not connect. Early users ran into brief delays as traffic spiked.

The voice messages fans leave will be used in future content, according to the announcement.

Mark has been busy on other fronts as well. He recently shared vlog content through the YouTube channel "Upper Room," part of a steady run of solo activities.
