K-POP boy group TWS has released a performance film for "SODA SODA," the title track of its second Japanese single. The video arrived on the group's official YouTube channel on Aug. 27 at 8 p.m. KST, giving fans a first full look at the song's choreography.

Filmed against an ocean backdrop, the video shows all six members, Shinyu, Dohoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon and Kyungmin, in Y2K-inspired outfits. The choreography leans into the song's city-pop sound, with playful gestures that mimic soda bubbles rising with the fingertips, shaking motions modeled after a Ramune bottle, and group beats built around high-fives and interlocking hands.

Online reactions have framed the release as a piece of summer nostalgia. Fans have described TWS as "the definition of an idealized summer" and said the group "makes a fleeting summer feel permanent." Others said the video captured "the Japanese summer mood of that era" and that they were "already looking forward to next summer with TWS."

The single has already reset the group's own numbers on the Japanese charts. According to Oricon, TWS' second Japanese single sold 161,253 copies on release day, surpassing the first-week total of its previous release in a single day. It went on to move 225,853 copies in its opening week, landing at No. 2 on Oricon's Weekly Singles Ranking dated Aug. 17, which covers the tracking period from Aug. 3 to 9.

"SODA SODA," co-written by members Kyungmin, Youngjae and Jihoon, also reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan's Japan Hot 100, the country's main all-genre songs chart. TWS plans to perform a Korean-language version of the track on Mnet's "M Countdown" on Sept. 3.

The group is also heading into a run of Japanese concerts. TWS will hold "2026 TWS TOUR '24/7:FOR:YOU' IN JAPAN" in Fukuoka from Aug. 28 to 30, in Hyogo from Sept. 4 to 6, and in Kanagawa on Sept. 12 and 13.

Taken together, the chart run, the Hot 100 finish and the tour dates suggest TWS is using this summer to build a durable second market in Japan, one nostalgic soda-pop hook at a time.
