BLACKPINK's Jisoo is opening up about a moment from the group's Coachella headlining night that had fans talking online. The singer shared the story behind her now-famous remark to her bandmates in a new interview with W Korea.

On August 30, W Korea's YouTube channel posted a video titled "Looking back on 10 years since debut with Jisoo through a quick interview! Why did silence fall at the BLACKPINK concert?"

In the clip, Jisoo revisited the scene right after BLACKPINK wrapped its Coachella headlining set. Archive footage showed the members getting emotional on stage, with tears in their eyes. Jisoo can be heard saying, "Oh? They're crying, they're crying," followed by, "BLACKPINK, we're not taking pictures, right? I'm going to change."

Explaining the moment, Jisoo said, "The thing is, someone had to do it."

She continued, "It wasn't a cold moment. The show was ending, but no one was leaving their spot." She then walked through the logistics of that night. "The Coachella venue was far from LA. I had decided to head back to LA after the show, and the drive was about two hours. So I had no choice but to wrap things up like that."

Jisoo added a small detail about why she called out to the group by name. "At that moment, I felt like the only way to get them to look at me was to call out 'BLACKPINK,' so that's what I did."

The story adds a lighter layer to one of the most-watched K-pop performances of recent years. BLACKPINK's Coachella headlining set made the group the first K-pop act to top the festival's bill, and moments from that night have continued to circulate online well after the show. For fans, Jisoo's explanation reframes a scene many read as awkward into something much more practical: a member trying to keep her group on schedule after a career-defining night.
