CORTIS Tops TikTok's Songs of the Summer 2026 in Korea With 'REDRED'

Group CORTIS has landed the No. 1 spot on TikTok's list of the most-used songs among Korean users this summer. The short-video platform crowned the group's track "REDRED" as the top summer song in Korea for 2026.

TikTok released its "Songs of the Summer 2026" list based on how music was used across the platform. In the Korean chart, "REDRED" took the top spot and CORTIS was also named a leading artist for "K-Pop Summer" and the standout boy group of the season.

The domestic chart drew from a wide mix of eras. Recent releases like ILLIT's "It's Me" and PLAVE's "HMPH!" appeared alongside older hits, including iKON's "LOVE SCENARIO." Overseas tracks used in TikTok challenges also made the list, such as Japanese singer and creator Sasane's "mosimosi?" and Sakuma Hitomi's "Change My World (Going Mad Mix)."

Globally, the No. 1 song was Katy Perry's 2011 track "The One That Got Away." The song was used in more than 42 million pieces of summer content on TikTok. It pulled in over 55 billion views and passed 1.8 billion Spotify streams, giving it a full chart resurgence. Older tracks from Mac Miller and Lenny Kravitz also ranked high on the global list.

TikTok also broke the summer out into themes under a package called "Songs of the Summer, Vol. 2026." CORTIS's "REDRED" landed in the "K-Pop Summer" category. Zara Larsson's "Midnight Sun" was placed in "Pop Girl Summer," while Katy Perry's hit was tagged under "Retro Revival."

A separate honors list, the "TikTok Summer Honors 2026," gave out special picks. Along with CORTIS, the winners included Zara Larsson for biggest presence of the summer, a collaboration by KITSCHKRIEG, Blumengarten and Shirin David for most misheard lyric of the summer, and Slayyyter for breakout artist of the summer.

Tracy Gardner, TikTok's global head of music business, framed the list as a snapshot of how the platform's users engage with music. "From new artists reaching fans around the world to long-loved classics being discovered by a new generation, the TikTok community keeps showing how many different forms of music it can embrace," Gardner said. "TikTok is where music culture forms and fandoms grow. It connects artists and songs with new audiences, and the discoveries that start on the platform carry over well beyond it."

CORTIS said the recognition felt meaningful. "It's an honor and a joy for 'REDRED' to be named a TikTok Song of the Summer. Watching TikTok users around the world find our song in the community and enjoy it in their own creative ways has been a special experience," the group said. "We're truly grateful to COER and everyone who made our song part of a special summer moment."
