Global Girl Group KATSEYE has officially kicked off their first major world tour with an energetic opening night in Dublin, however while the group earned praise onstage, a lot of confusion surrounding the VIP operations and the concert's notably young crowd left some fans frustrated with their experience.

The group opened "THE WILDWORLD TOUR" at Dublin's 3Arena on September 1st. With both Sophia and Manon absent from the show, Yoonchae, Megan, Lara and Daniela took the stage as a four-member lineup, performing their hits such as "GNARLY," "Gabriela," "Touch" and "PINKY UP" alongside new stages from their recently released "WILD" EP.

Despite the group's reduced lineup, the members kept much of the focus on the performance. Ahead of her solo dance-break, Daniela presented a rose to a young fan, while Megan powered through an extended dance break despite recently suffering an ankle sprain that had already forced her to sit out Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields festival.

However, the Dublin stage allowed Megan the opportunity to showcase another side of her musical involvement. Following the concert, she took to Weverse to reveal that she had actually worked with the tour's music director to produce music for both her dance break and DJ set, even incorporating one of her unreleased demos into the mix.

"My dance break is very special to me cause I got to produce the music for my dance break and my DJ set with our amazing music director," Megan shared, adding that being able to include her demo "makes me so happy."

Yet outside of KATSEYE's performance, the first night of the tour was considerably less seamless.

Multiple VIP attendees took to social media to describe confusion surrounding both entry and queuing. Some fans who arrived early to the venue claimed they had initially formed an orderly queue before being instructed to leave and return at 3 p.m, with no official wristbands distributed and fan-organized numbering not recognized. Other attendees subsequently complained that people were able to move ahead in the queue by claiming they had been waiting since the previous night.

The situation came amid 3Arena's explicit warning against overnight queueing, with the venue informing concertgoers ahead of the show that anyone attempting to camp outside would be moved on by security. While intended to prevent overnight camping, the policy appears to have contributed to confusion among VIP holders over how early arrivals would ultimately be ordered once official queueing began.

The frustration was particularly notable given what came with the tour's premium packages. KATSEYE's VIP experiences included benefits such as access to a pre-show soundcheck and Q&A, a commemorative VIP merchandise gift pack, early merchandise shopping and on-site VIP staff, with activities beginning hours before the main concert.

For some attendees, problems reportedly continued after the performance. Some VIP holders said the promised merchandise gift packs had run out, with at least one fan claiming they waited nearly two hours for the group's meet-and-greet before being told no bags remained. The complaints prompted questions among attendees over whether too many VIP packages had been sold or insufficient merchandise had been prepared for the opening date.

Meanwhile, another unexpected discussion emerged around just how young KATSEYE's concert audience has become.

Numerous attendees remarked on the large number of younger fans accompanied by parents, including around the standing floor and barricade. Some described sections of the crowd as having limited jumping despite frequent screaming, while others complained of crowding and disruption during soundcheck.

The observations became more notable because 3Arena's rules for the concert restricted standing admission to those aged 14 and over, while attendees under 16 were required to be accompanied by an adult. Although social media accounts alone cannot establish the ages of individual concertgoers, several fans questioned whether the age restriction was being consistently enforced after encountering what they believed to be particularly young children in the standing section.

The demographic itself is not necessarily surprising as KATSEYE has increasingly attracted younger listeners as the group's global profile has expanded. This means parents accompanying pre-teen and teenage fans are becoming a visible part of their concert audience and could continue so as the tour progresses. However, the Dublin reactions also illustrate the practical challenges that can emerge when a young fanbase meets a traditional general-admission concert environment.

Importantly, much of the criticism following the show was directed at the organization surrounding the event rather than KATSEYE's performance itself. Clips from inside the arena showed enthusiastic reactions to the four-member lineup, while Megan's decision to perform through her injury and the members' extended dance sections drew particular praise.

Dublin was only the beginning of a 27-city run that will take "THE WILDWORLD TOUR" through Europe, the UK and North America. With demand for the tour already evident during its competitive ticket sales, its opening night offered an early indication of both KATSEYE's growing live appeal and the logistical challenges that can accompany it.

As the tour moves on from Dublin, whether the VIP queueing and merchandise problems prove to be isolated opening-night growing pains, or repeat themselves at subsequent stops, may now be almost as closely watched by fans as what happens onstage.
