aespa and KATSEYE are touring North America in the same stretch of the calendar, and the ticket data shows a clear gap between them. aespa still has double-digit percentages of seats open at shows where tickets start as low as $49.50. KATSEYE is nearing a sellout at the same venues, even with starting prices more than eight times higher.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, K-POPIT checked seat availability on Ticketmaster for three tour stops held by each group: Los Angeles, Belmont Park in New York, and Atlanta. All three are common stops for K-pop groups on North American tours. In Belmont Park and Atlanta, the two groups are playing the exact same venues.

Across the shows checked, KATSEYE's average starting ticket price was $454. That is about five times aespa's average starting price of $94. Yet unsold seats told the opposite story. aespa had roughly four times more empty seats than KATSEYE, with an average of 8.5% unsold compared with KATSEYE's 2.2%. Higher prices, more sales.

The gap is widest in New York. aespa's show at UBS Arena in Belmont Park on the 18th still has about 2,127 unsold seats, or 14.2% of the venue's estimated 15,000-seat capacity. Tickets start at $49.50. KATSEYE plays the same arena on the 24th and 25th, and both nights are close to sold out. Only 562 seats (3.7%) remain for night one and 551 seats (3.7%) for night two. The starting price for both nights is $416, more than eight times aespa's low end, but unsold inventory is about a quarter of what aespa has.

Atlanta and Los Angeles look much the same. aespa's show at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on the 24th, an estimated 15,000-seat room, starts at $140.50 and has 955 seats (6.3%) left. KATSEYE's show at the same arena on October 15 starts at $421 and has only 246 unsold seats, about 1.6%.

In Los Angeles, aespa plays Intuit Dome on October 3, an estimated 14,000-seat room. That night has 689 unsold seats (4.9%), with tickets starting at $92. KATSEYE plays Crypto.com Arena on November 21 and 22, an estimated 15,000-seat venue. Night one has just 122 seats left (0.8%) and night two has 130 (0.9%). Starting prices are $510 and $506, more than five times aespa's low end in the same city.

On its own, aespa's selling numbers are not bad. Industry sources say that clearing 70% on a U.S. arena run is generally considered a solid result. Placed next to KATSEYE, though, the difference in local U.S. demand becomes hard to miss. aespa has built a strong fan base across Asia, but on U.S. arena floors, KATSEYE's localization-first strategy is pulling ahead.
